Greetings

Who are you?

I'm Jota. Or “Admiral Jota”, if you like. It's pronounced like the Spanish letter J (HO-ta), since that's the first letter of my name. I do have a real name, but I don't usually use it on the Internet. Too many weirdos out there. (I should know: I'm one of them.)

(Actually, I just think it's fun to be all mysterious and secretive. I know something you don't know; I know something you don't know...)

(Unless you're one of those people who do know. In which case, you win this round. But I'll get you next time!)

Anyway, I think I had a point when I started all of this...

Who are you?

I'm a software developer from New Hampshire. I'm male, and I was born in the late 1970's.

That doesn't really tell you much, I guess. But you know, “mysterious and secretive”. Or something.

You can probably get a better idea of who I am by reading the stuff I write when I'm not trying to explain who I am.

Who are you?

I'm an IF author. That means I write text adventure games. The best one I wrote is called Lost Pig. It's about an orc called Grunk who loses a pig and then falls down a hole into an underground ruin while trying to find it. A lot of people seemed to enjoy playing it, so you might like it too.

I'm a role-player. Sometimes. I've played a few different role playing games, and I've written up a couple things that you might find interesting. One is a short, silly RPG system called Toonish Lite, in which you play cartoon characters. Another is an artifact for D&D called the Deck of Galumarth, inspired by the Deck of Many Things.

I'm a dieter. I need to watch my weight. So I've written up a couple of recipes for lower calorie and lower fat versions of things. One is for custard, and another is for muffins.

I'm a writer. Well, not really. I just wanted to keep up the theme I've got going here. I'm really just someone who sometimes writes things. I'm pretty sure there's a difference. Anyway, here are some short things that I've written and put online:

I'm a... er... oh, I don't know what I am. But I've got one other link that I thought was worth including here. It's a scan of an old marketing booklet called Typewriter Etiquette. It's very 1964, if you like that sort of thing.

I'm other stuff too, of course. Those are just the things that I happened to have files about lying around that I wanted to link to.

Who are you?

But... I just... how much more...?

OK, OK. If you want to know more, you can email me. My address is jota [-xxx-] grunk.org (replace the [-xxx-] with an @ sign). You can also check out the overflow area for my brain if you want to see my random aperiodic thoughts.

And that's just about all I have to say. For now, anyway.
